Financial assistance for Sask. wildfire evacuees doubling, officials say in latest update

Officials with the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency say there have been no more human starts to the wildfires in northern Saskatchewan, with 23 active fires now burning in the province. It is also doubling its daily financial assistance for evacuees.

Candle Lake prepares for imminent fire threat; restaurant closes to serve firefighters only

The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency has advised the Resort Village of Candle Lake that the province’s largest wildfire, the Shoe fire, will likely reach the community within the next three to 10 days, depending on weather conditions.
